Client concept project

Eventkeel: studio website, planner admin and client app

Brand, website, admin and app design, plus a product roadmap, for an independent UK wedding and events planner. This work is at the concept and mock up stage. Nothing has been built or launched.

The studio name Quillmere Events is a stand in, used to protect our client's confidentiality. Every person, event, supplier and figure in these screens is fictional.

The challenge

An independent planner was starting a new wedding and events studio. It needed a brand and a website that could take enquiries. Behind that, the everyday work of planning (budgets, suppliers, guests, timelines and the choices clients make) tends to sit across spreadsheets and email threads.

What we did

  • Brand for the studio: naming options with desk checks, positioning, a colour palette, type and logo routes.
  • Studio website: mock ups for desktop and mobile covering home, services with published prices, portfolio, a case study page, about, enquiry and the enquiry confirmation.
  • Eventkeel Planner admin: the concept and screen designs for Eventkeel, a software product owned by Caresque. Screens include the enquiry pipeline, an event dashboard, budget, run sheet, a live mode for the day itself, an approvals hub, and settings for branding, team and plan.
  • Eventkeel client iOS app: designs in light and dark mode for invite and sign in, home, a decisions inbox, approval detail, approving from a notification, and decision confirmation.
  • Product roadmap: a staged plan. First, launch the studio on an off the shelf planning tool while the first version of Eventkeel is built. Next, deeper collaboration and a supplier portal, starting with video meetings that produce a summary and action points the client can approve. Later, paid plans so other planners can use Eventkeel.

How we approached it

  • One event, one source of truth. Budget, timeline, suppliers, guests and decisions all hang off the event, so nothing lives in a spreadsheet off to the side.
  • Decisions you can trace. Every choice a client makes is an approval request with a version, a decision and an audit record that cannot be changed.
  • White label from day one. Clients see their planner's brand first, with Eventkeel in the background. It is designed to keep each client's data separate.
  • Privacy by design. Guest dietary and accessibility details may count as health data, so the design stores them separately, collects the minimum and deletes them on a schedule.
  • Accessible colours. The colours in the admin and the app are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast, in light and dark mode.

Where it is now

This is concept and mock up work. Eventkeel has not been built or launched, and the studio website is not live.

What this means for clients

We can take a new business from a name and a brand to a website, the software behind it and a plan for what comes next. See new product design, web apps and iOS apps and go to market strategy.
